SPECIAL MEETING

 

A meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Trenton, NE, was convened in open and public session, Thursday, June 9, 2016 at 6:30p.m. at the Village Office.  Present:  Chairman Rundel, Trustees Frakes, and Poppert, Clerk McKain, Deputy Clerk Rife, Gary Hanken, Curtis Kayton, Paisley Poppert, James Rundel, and Colyn Suda.  Board members McArthur and Neely were absent.  Availability of the agenda was communicated in advance notice and in the notice sent to the Chairman and Trustees of the meeting. All proceedings hereafter shown were taken while the meeting was open to the public.

 

Roll Call was taken at 6:35pm and quorum was verified.

 

Chairman made “Open Meeting Act” announcement.

 

Citizen Forum:  No comments.

 

Motion made by Poppert and second by Frakes to approve agenda. Ayes: Frakes, Poppert, and Rundel.  Nays: None.  Absent: McArthur and Neely.  Motion carried. 

 

Motion made by Poppert and second by Frakes to approve the May 10, 2016 meeting minutes.  Ayes: Frakes, Poppert, and Rundel.  Nays: None.  Absent: McArthur and Neely.  Motion carried.

 

Unfinished Business: Motion made by Frakes and second by Poppert to approve VFD repairs for wells for $21,900.70 from Sargent Drilling.  Ayes: Frakes, Poppert, and Rundel.  Nays: None.  Absent: McArthur and Neely.  Motion carried.

 

New Business: A handout from SWPPD was distributed.  It provided an overview of the positive attributes of the relationship.  A copy of the contract was distributed and discussed in length as to areas that can be approved upon or released from responsibility of SWPPD.  An additional meeting is scheduled for June 29, 2016 at the Village office at 6:00pm to continue discussions on the contract.

 

Motion made by Frakes and second by Poppert to approve the lifeguard application of Kylie Peter at $7.25 per hour.  Ayes: Frakes, Poppert, and Rundel.  Nays: None.  Absent: McArthur and Neely.  Motion carried. 

 

Mr. Apple had inquired about a possible shed being built on the leased land of the school by the track.  Board members had no objection to the shed being build; however, proper building permits would be required.

 

With no further business, motion made by Frakes and second by Poppert to adjourn meeting at 8:55pm.  Ayes: Frakes, Poppert and Rundel.  Nays: None.  Absent: McArthur and Neely.  Motion carried.
