A meeting of the Board of Trustees of
the Village of Trenton, NE, was convened in open and public session, Thursday, June
21, 2016 at 6:00p.m. at the Village Office. Present: Chairman Rundel,
Trustees Frakes, McArthur (arrived 6:10pm) and Neely, Clerk McKain, Deputy
Clerk Rife, Superintendent Vrbas, Larry Evans, Aaron Leggott, and Zita Rundel.
Board member Poppert was absent. Availability of the agenda was communicated
in advance notice and in the notice sent to the Chairman and Trustees of the
meeting. All proceedings hereafter shown were taken while the meeting was open
to the public.
Roll Call was taken at 6:05pm and
quorum was verified.

made by Frakes and second by Neely to approve agenda. Ayes: Frakes, McArthur,
Neely and Rundel. Nays: None. Absent: Poppert. Motion carried.
Meeting
minutes from June 9, 2016 were not approved.

made by McArthur and second by Frakes to approve the June 14, 2016 meeting
minutes. Ayes: Frakes, McArthur and Rundel. Nays: None. Abstain: Neely. Absent:
Poppert. Motion carried.

RESOLUTION 2016-06-01
Special Event Closing of Highway 25
for Harvest Festival
The Board Chairman and
Village Board of Trustees of the Village of Trenton (hereinafter in the
Village), in special session assembled at the Village Office in Trenton,
Nebraska on the 21st day of June, 2016, hereby resolve as follows:
WHEREAS, the Village
will assume control of Highway 25 (Main Street) between West G Street and West
B Street on August 6, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
WHEREAS, the Village
acknowledges the acceptance of the duties set out in LB 589 subsection (2) and
is in agreement to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the state from all
claims, demands, actions, damages and liability, including reasonable
attorney’s fees, which may arise as a result of the special event.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Village will assume control of Highway 25 (Main Street) between West G Street and West B Street beginning at 11:00 a.m. on August 6, 2016.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Village will return possession back to the State of
Nebraska Department of Roads Division (NDOR) at 12:30 p.m. on August 6, 2016.

Business: Trenton
Rec Association requested a donation for Harvest Festival. Motion made by Neely
and second by McArthur to approve a $300 donation from Keno funds. Ayes:
Frakes, McArthur, Neely and Rundel. Nays: None. Absent: Poppert. Motion
carried. A first review of the 2016-17 budget was discussed. Keno funds may
begin to be limited, as funding is not coming in as expected. The library may
be receiving a $60,000 grant for an aquaponics project. Some possible grant
funds may be available for the main street building project. Some additional
water supply/security grants may be available next year.

A special meeting with SWPPD on June
29, 2016 at 6:00pm is scheduled at the Village office.
Next regular meeting will be July 12,
2016 at 6:30pm in the Village Office.
